Meet Wulf, the child behind our 2024 Telethon poster

7 May 2024

Wulf, now 7 years old, was born with heart malformations.

Shortly after his birth, the little one underwent a significant open-heart surgery. Following this procedure, he had to stay in the hospital for 3 months, a challenging period for both the little boy and his mom, Wendy. A few months later, a second open-heart surgery had to be performed.

During the year following these surgeries, Wulf was closely monitored by pediatric doctors at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Today, the little guy still has annual check-ups. He may need surgery in the future, but he is much better now!

“Wulf’s main characteristic is his joy. He’s interested in everything and everyone around him. He has a beautiful light in his eyes and is always seeking his next adventure. He has taught us a lot about faith and hope, and we are eternally grateful to the incredible doctors, nurses, technicians, caregivers, and staff at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Their dedication and expertise have allowed our son to be the radiant light he is today,” shares Wendy.

Wulf LOVES drawing and painting. He also enjoys watching videos of alphabets from different countries; his current favorite is the Greek alphabet. Your generosity helps to brighten his daily life and that of thousands of sick children in the province.

We are delighted that Wulf will be the face of the upcoming Telethon, embodying both sweetness and determination. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Wulf and Wendy, his mother, for sharing their story with such generosity.

Operation Enfant Soleil Telethon will take place on June 2, 2024, on TVA starting at 12:30 PM. Be sure to tune in!
