Belœil, January 18, 2018 — Opération Enfant Soleil is proud to continue its association with Bonneville Homes for the completion of the 2018 Maison Enfant Soleil by Bonneville. Unveiled this morning, the unique model was specially designed for Opération Enfant Soleil and can be visited this February at Expo habitat Québec, then in March at the National Home Show in Montreal and at Bonneville Homes from April through June 2018. The winner will receive a prize worth $500,000, including the fully decorated and furnished house as well as funds for purchasing land in the town of his or her choice.
This project is made possible thanks to the generosity and support of our partners, including IKEA, the official furniture supplier and decorator; Lowe’s, the official materials supplier; and TD, the main funder for land purchases. Opération Enfant Soleil spokesperson Alain Dumas took the opportunity to introduce his collaborator, Enfant Soleil Angéline. Angéline suffered from acute respiratory distress syndrome when she was one. Her lungs were seriously afflicted, her liver was visibly swollen and, initially, treatments didn’t produce the expected results. Fortunately, the use of a high-frequency ventilator and the installation of chest tubes for each lung allowed her to recover. Today, Angéline is six years old. She is healthy and can aspire to a normal life.
Dany Bonneville, co-president of Bonneville Homes, is very proud to see the family business pursue its philanthropic mission. He was thrilled to unveil the image of this magnificent home, which will bear Angéline’s name in honour of the project’s Enfant Soleil ambassador.
Last year, more than $2 million was raised by ticket sales for the draw. Since the first edition, draws for Enfant Soleil houses have helped raise over $22 million. The draw will take place live on August 9 on Salut Bonjour, which is broadcast on the TVA network.
