Montreal, March 9, 2018 — This morning, Opération Enfant Soleil officially opened the 26th Maison Enfant Soleil, a Bonneville Homes project. This exclusive, unique model named Angéline, in honour of the Enfant Soleil ambassador for the project, will be drawn live on August 9 on TVA’s Salut Bonjour.
Tickets will be available at a cost of $10 from partners in the provincial sales network, which includes RE/MAX, Familiprix, Couche-Tard, Réno-Dépôt and Rona as well as the Opération Enfant Soleil website. The winner will receive a prize worth $500,000, including a magnificent fully decorated and furnished house as well as funds for purchasing land in the city of his or her choice.
This project could not be so successful without the extraordinary commitment of our major partners: Bonneville Homes, the official builder; IKEA, the furniture supplier and official decorator; Lowe’s, the official supplier of materials; and TD, the main provider of land purchase funds.
Last year, over $2 million was raised by draw ticket sales, and since the first year, Maison Soleil draws have helped raise over $22 million.
Angéline Lamy, Ambassador for the 2018 Maison Enfant Soleil by Bonneville
During a family meal, 1-year-old Angéline started having convulsions. Her parents called the ambulance and their child was taken to hospital in an emergency. In the intensive care unit, doctors did not want to say anything about her chances of survival and the risk of serious aftereffects. Angeline had actually just experienced acute respiratory distress syndrome. Her lungs were seriously ill, her liver visibly swollen and, initially, no treatment produced the expected results. Fortunately, the use of a high-frequency ventilator and the installation of chest tubes for each lung allowed her to recover. Today, Angéline is healthy and can aspire to a normal life. “My lungs were really sick. A machine made me breathe. But thanks to you, today I’m better, and I can do everything like other children.”
